We wish all students a happy and productive term. THE CHANNEL brings all important announcements of activities, deadlines, departmental notices, etc. Make it ; habit to read The Channel every Monday and Wednesday morning. ******************************************** STUDENT UNION NEWS: Bus Service: Your way to AUC now is much easier.. Even if you come **><***********»**** from Heliopolis - The S.U. bus service will s.art on October 1st, for L.E.200.- only per semester. Pay your deposit of L.E. 100.- one week from NOW. Deadline for full payment is October 1st. Maadi service will also start soon. Hurry up and sign your name. Book Service: If you have any used books, bring them to the S.U. office to be sold for you. Note: Sc.109, Exploration of the Universe is needed, so help others and bring it to the S.U. TO ALL CLUBS: All clubs presidents (already existing or intending) are urgently requested to attend a meeting with the S.U. clubs coordinator on Wed.Sept.23 at 11 a.m. in rm.iv/403 H.H. From the PHYSICS representative: All Physics major are invited to attend a very important meeting to discuss major issues concerning SPS, Physics Association, etc.. This will take place on Monday, September 21 at 11 a.m. in rm.it 403 H.H. FLAME: Flame welcomes everybody back. There will be a very important meeting on Monday, ****** September 21. at 11 a.m. Attendance is a must. Watch out for the room it in the next Channel. New members are welcome. KEEP OUR CAMPUS CLEAN... Please help keep our Campus clean. Chairs on the Main Campus sports court walkway are to be kept behind the yellow lines at all times to keep the passage way unblocked. AUC FRIENDS PROGRAM: All AUC students interested in having an American YAB friend and join ******************** the AUC Friends Program, are urged to sign up at the International Student Services office rm.it 504 H.H. CULTURAL ACTIVITIES: All AUC students (registered for academic year 92/93) who would like ******************** to i0fn any cultural activities such as Plastic Art (calligraphy, sculpture, pottery, painting on silk or glass, photography etc.) group or individual singing, creative writing, (poems, zaggal, research etc. in Arabic); Egyptian folklore, classical and Egyptian Ballet, music, etc. are welcome to contact Mrs.Khafaga at the Office of Student Affairs, rm .it 206 as soon as possible. STUDENT LOUNGE: *************** COMPUTER SCIENCE DEPT.: **************** The Student Lounge, Hill House is open on working days from 8 a.m. -4 p.m. Smoking is nofc permitted. On an experimental basis, food and drinks will be permitted, provided the lounge is kept tidy for other students! Students interested in changing their major to Computer Science are requested to submit their applications to Mrs.Magda rm.#609 Sc.Bldg, as soon as possible. The application must indicate concentration courses taken (CS, Phys. & Math), concentration GPA and overall GPA. Deadline to receive applications is Monday, September 21, 1992. MATH. CORE CURRICULUM OFFICE: *************** **Important Announcement from Mrs.Kerdany to Core Curriculum students: Core Curriculum students who have completed the pre-requisites for Hist. 246 and ANSO 210 are urged to register for the courses. There are places available in Hist 246 sections 07,08 and 09, and in ANSO 210 sections 04, 06 and 07. A few places In Phil 220 are also available. Plan to take these courses NOW, rather than face problems in the coming semesters. **Mrs. Aleya Kerdany urgently requests to see Dalia Abdel Hamid A/Moneim.
